Travelodge Colchester Feering

Stayed 1 night in hotel. It was conveniently situated behind a petrol station with Burger King & Gregg's within the grounds. Free parking with ample spaces. Friendly & warm greeting from staff members. The room was comfortable & a good size for a family room.

Me and my husband picked this travellodge due to its cheap price during the holidays. We weren’t expecting much and were pleasantly surprised at the outstanding service that we received from the moment our holiday began! The receptionist was especially very kind and helpful, making the beginning of our stay very relaxing. Considering how close the hotel is to the A12 it’s incredibly peaceful and arguably one of the nicest places we’ve stayed at! We had a nice view out our window and the area had everything you needed in a pinch!

Cara on reception was so lovely and really made me feel comfortable. She was happy to help with any questions I had and was very friendly.

I was warmly welcomed here by Cara. She quickly found solutions to all my problems. The room was clean. When I needed additional towels and pillows, Cara was very quick to help. Thank you to Cara.

I must say I've stayed in many hotels the reception staff when we arrived were second to none every question was answered and a complete pleasure to be a guest allen a fantastic for life

A great experience with affordable pricing and WiFi as an option. The entire staff team put customer satisfaction first and this is shown throughout your stay from the friendly attitude to the cleanliness. There's a free carpark that you can use during your stay as well as some fast food options such as subway and burger king and the petrol station shop has a good variety of stuff but unfortunately none are 24/7 for food purchases so take this into consideration as there's no easy access to alternatives other than going for a drive.

I booked this Travelodge last minute for a week stay and; having read some reviews, was nervous I’d made a mistake. On arrival the manageress was very welcoming. She explained that if we needed fresh towels or extra tea and coffee, we simply had to put the sign on our door before 11am. Alternatively; if we preferred no one to enter the room, we could just ask at reception and they would accommodate this….which they did. While unpacking I discovered the fan in our room didn’t work, but I was immediately given a brand new one. Later when I couldn’t get a second device connected to the Wi-Fi I’d paid for, the lady at reception called Virgin and had the issue resolved quickly. I’d chosen a room at the far end of the hotel away from the road. It was so peaceful it felt like being in the countryside. We barely heard any road noise and were even greeted by a family of rabbits outside our window each morning. The hot water took a minute or two to come through, but once it did the shower was as hot as we wanted and despite being a little dated the shower was lovely. The on-sight facilities are a bonus: the petrol station sells everything from razors to milkshakes, the Subway manager makes excellent salads and foot-long sandwiches, and Greggs next door is ideal for fresh bacon baps, fruit pots, pasta pots and great-value meal deals. If you’re happy to drive out to eat; which we were, there a lots of great pubs, an American diner and plenty more within 15mins. If you want to go a bit further Chelmsford is a lovely modern pedestrian town to eat, shop and more and Colchester is steeped in history with higgledy-piggledy little streets with eateries from all over the world. Overall, this Travelodge offers excellent value for money. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because I had to dust the shelves before unpacking and the kettle wasn’t as clean as it should have been. Nothing major, and I’m sure had I mentioned it, the manageress would have happily sorted it.

Cleo was absolutely brilliant - really thoughtful and helpful. She kindly checked whether it was safe for me to walk to a nearby restaurant and provided all the travel info I needed. The room was clean and comfortable too - really enjoyed my stay.
